Seghers, Greg and Carlene

Greg and Carlene Seghers met through Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship and married in 1985. They moved their family to South Africa in 1993 to minister among the amaZioni. The Seghers have three married sons living in the USA and six grandchildren. Greg and Carlene’s responsibilities are to expand ZEMA’s network and facilitate and support the growth of ZEMA and the amaZioni work in Southern Africa. Relocating permanently to Wisconsin to become Home Office Directors, the Seghers believe “This world is not my home” and that the family of God holds the key to healing in every culture and in all relationships.

The Seghers love ZEMA's work and are excited to be transitioning ZEMA’s Home Office responsibilities to Kevin and Christine Pinter, who have also invested their lives in ZEMA’s ministries. Together, we love that in the ZEMA family, diverse cultures come together to share one Gospel: the Gospel of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

Having spent 29+ years in Southern Africa, through ZEMA’s Bible school ministries and discipleship relationships, the Seghers have seen syncretism challenged, and some who were once strongly animistic turn to Jesus, becoming Bible teachers and faithful brothers and sisters in Christ. The Seghers count it a privilege to have lived and worked alongside ZEMA missionaries and amaZioni Christians who have joined as one, the Family of God.
