ZEFA

We’ve all heard it: “as iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another” (Prov. 27:17). The Zion Evangelical Fellowship of Africa (ZEFA) represents ZEMA’s prioritization of this accountability and growth amongst churches and leaders. We want to sharpen one another so that God’s kingdom will grow and His truth will not be neglected.

Zion churches range from strongly syncretistic to solidly Christian. ZEFA, made up of primarily African pastors who are elected at an annual conference of Zion church leaders, unites those churches who share a strongly Christian doctrine and wish to fellowship and support one another.

ZEFA provides the opportunity to build stronger relationships between ZEMA and Zion churches and to maintain a measure of accountability with ZEBS graduates. ZEFA member churches are required to have at least one pastor who graduated from ZEBS. Regular conferences and training seminars make it possible for these churches to hold fast to the truth against the often destructive influences of the culture. Current focal points include training pastors to help foster healthy marriages among their congregants and to preach truth from the Bible rather than resorting to other sources.
