Sullivans for the Saviour

MARCH 2021

Dear Friends,

It was this time last year that we were preparing to travel to Australia and New Zealand – little did we know what lay ahead. We continue to praise God for his mercy, his protection and his provision over this past year as we have adjusted to what is now called the “new normal”.

We are reminded of Isaiah 40:31 that

“they that wait for (hope in) the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not be faint”.

We are continually learning to place our hope in the Lord and to wait on Him and his timing, remembering that He is the Sovereign God.

MINISTRY NEWS: We are slowly getting back into ministry and although we have not been able to attend services, Andy has been preaching “online” having his sermons recorded during the week and then have it sent out on Sunday. You can find his sermons on “YouTube”. He has also preached “in person” at Idwala church over two weeks while their pastor was away.
We have just returned from CfC Ministries where Andy taught on the New Testament to the Diploma students. There were also about 20 students studying for the South Coast Bible School Certificate. We rejoice that SIX students will be receiving their Diploma in Theology at the Mukhanyo College graduation service in March. Sadly, we cannot attend as Tutors due to covid restrictions but we are going to hold a “celebration party” (with all the covid protocols) after their graduation when we can get together and rejoice with them and their loved ones.
We praise the Lord that we have had a number of missionary friends staying in “#104 The House Next Door”. Paul Seelhammer visited for a night so that he and Andy could discuss ZEFA related matters as Paul prepares to take over as ZEFA Administrator from Andy in 2022. Hugh and Julie Fowles fellow Scottsville Baptist missionaries who minister in Cambodia but are unable to return came for a weekend. Pray for them as they need finances for their visa applications and to cover the costs of quarantine on arrival. Praise the Lord that we have missionary families who have booked the “house next door” for March and April. We’re thinking of naming it “Phumlani” (place of rest).

PLEASE PRAY as we plan for an uncertain future bearing in minds the words of James 4:15 “if the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that”. March is a quiet month filled with administration, but April should be busier as Andy has two preaching appointments and hopefully a Missions Weekend at Scottsville Baptist. Pray regarding the Easter weekend as this is a time when our Zionist churches love gathering in large numbers. However, that will not happen this year so pray for wisdom as we guide and advise the church leaders.

FAMILY NEWS: The family are all well and the grandchildren are back at school with Carson starting High School.
Thank you for your love and prayers.
