ZEMA in MPUMALANGA and MOCAMBIQUE
Spring has come, and here in Nelspruit it seems that we moved straight from Winter to Summer with just 20 minutes of Spring in between !
SOMETHING ABOUT THE AMAZIONI:
Did you know that about 25 % of the South African population is estimated to identify themselves as part of an ‘AmaZioni type’ Church in South Africa….
We say ‘estimated’ because the last census in South Africa was in 2011 and THAT census did not ask for Church affiliation. This 25 % figure comes from a 2016 Community survey.
What this MEANS is that if you want to take missions seriously in Southern Africa YOU HAVE TO take into account the AmaZioni movement…….
SOMETHING ABOUT AMAZIONI BELIEFS
The biggest single reality about many AmaZioni people are that they hold onto two belief systems….they follow African Traditional Beliefs AND at the same time they seek to follow BIBLE TEACHING
SOMETHING ABOUT THE ZEBS PROGRAM
THIS WEEK (First week of September 2021) we will be at Jeppes Reef and we will be teaching a ‘double load’ trying to catch up for lost time due to COVID. Part of the lessons will be studying the prophets Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi. It’s always a sobering study to see the HIGH DESIRES of God for His people and the incredible opportunities for them to serve Him, but how miserably they failed…again and again….and then we look and see what opportunities God places before us in THIS GENERATION to reach THIS GENERATION.
SOMETHING ABOUT OURSELVES
After completing studies at the Baptist Theological College we pastored a new Church plant for 4 years during which time we felt called to mission among the amaZioni and we have now been with this outreach to the AmaZioni for 32 years. God has been incredibly faithful especially in the opening up of doors for ZEMA missionaries among the amaZioni.
SOMETHING TO PRAY ABOUT
1. That many AmaZioni Church leaders will come to Jeppes Reef for the teaching….South Africa is still coming out of the 3rd COVID wave…the worst so far !
2. That as we consider the actions of Gods people in the Old Testament it would spur us on in this generation to be faithful.
