Ian and Emilia McFarlane recently got married in January of 2026! They met at the Moody Bible Institute during their Freshman year and will soon complete their degrees in May of 2027. The primary factor that drew them together was their passion for sharing the love of Jesus with the nations. As the Lord brought the two of them into a covenant marriage, they have grown eager and excited to do the Lord’s will wherever he may take them.
Ian and Mia discovered ZEMA early in 2025 as they were searching for internship opportunities to fulfill their summer 2026 internship requirements for their Moody degrees. In pursuit of an organization to be sent through, the mission and passion of ZEMA spoke directly to the hearts of both Ian and Mia. As they continued their inquiry into the organization, they grew close to Greg and Carlene Seghers, who poured into Ian and Mia with wisdom, love, and support.
Ian and Mia will be working in Pietermaritzburg alongside Stephen and Jessica Langley. They will be sharpening their passions in teaching and discipleship as they embark on serving in the Zion Bible Schools, ministering to the local church body, and in discipleship settings.
They are eager to see the Lord work in a part of the world that is not only so in need of the gospel but so hungry for it as well!
