MINISTRY OBJECTIVES FOR 2022
- Expand ZEMA’s missionary
- Respond to enquiries of ZEMA’s ministries that come through the social
- Build ZEMA’s relationship with Bible schools, Churches, and other mission organizations.
- Identify churches and missionary contacts that we might communicate with who have expressed an interest in participating in ZEMA’s ministries.
- Facilitate communication between ZEMA’s home office and the
- Ongoing use of Zoom for direct communication between the field and home office.
- Regular trips to the USA to facilitate the work and represent the missionaries and ZEMA’s Field Council.
- Continue to develop ZEMA’s internship
- We will participate in MBI’s Missions Conference this fall (2021).
- We will make ZEMA available to host interns for cross-cultural

- Increase the donor base for ZEMA’s ongoing ministry and particularly home office
- Compile a comprehensive resource for a ZEMA Organizational Case for

PROGRESS MADE TOWARD THESE OBJECTIVES
- Goal: Expand ZEMA’s missionary
- In April 2022, Greg and Sarah Akers joined ZEMA as full-time missionaries working in the East London area.
- The Boatmans continue to raise support and plan to be missionaries with ZEMA at Sunbury Christian Camp by January 2024.
- Sandy and Matt Sheers (retired CFO from TEAM) have agreed to assist ZEMA by volunteering time and expertise.
- ZEMA’s website has become a place that people are reaching out to connect with and potentially assist with ZEMA’s ministries.
- Goal: Facilitate communication between ZEMA’s home office and the
- We participated in Board meetings through Zoom or recorded videos for ZEMA board meetings.
- Every other week I make phone calls to the ZEMA office

- We’ve continued building relationships with Moody students considering coming to SA.
- We participated in teaching in Intercultural classes at Moody in person and through Zoom.

- ZEMA missionaries are becoming more aware of the need to provide digital material and words to utilize on these platforms.
- An MBI professor, Mary Cloutier, regularly invites us to speak in her Other MBI professors have expressed their willingness to do the same.
- Goal: Increase the donor base for ZEMA’s ongoing ministry and particularly home office support.
- We’ve begun holding Crossing Cultures with Friends of ZEMA events (CCFZ) and will continue to build on these by utilizing ZEMA supporters to increase ZEMA’s donor network.
- To raise support for ZEMA’s General Fund in 2023, we are researching the possibility of organizing people from local churches to volunteer at Brewers
- Goal: Compile a comprehensive resource for a ZEMA Organizational Case for
- This is ongoing work that is temporarily on hold to improve the groundwork for a more comprehensive profile such as this.
- Currently, we are focused on strategic planning by using ZEMA’s purpose, vision, and spiritual impact statements to create a theory of change.

- Marius Swart is working with the ZEMA governance committee to write a ZEMA Policy Manual based on the current ZEMA Guiding Rules.
- Goal: Encourage African leadership in Bible schools
- Where missionaries are leaving the field or illnesses affect their level of participation in ZEBS, the African co-workers have stepped They are taking on the responsibility of those schools.
- Zion students in full-time Bible school are participating in ZEBS programs and are being asked to preach at Zion services.
- Goal: Maintain ongoing relationships with amaZioni pastors and make new
- While in SA, Greg met regularly with Zion pastors and mentored many who are currently teaching and running Bible schools.
- When invited, Greg also visited new Zion churches to share about the history of Zion and the opportunities ZEMA has for amaZioni.
- We are primarily located in the USA; this goal is discontinued in 2022/2023.
