Akers, Greg and Sarah

Greg grew up the son of ZEMA missionaries and grew to know the Lord as his Master while in his teens. As he came to experience the glory and majesty of God, his desire was to make that glory known to others. Some years after high school, Greg went to study at the Baptist Theological College in Randburg, where he earned his BTh. During this time and after he was on the pastoral team at Wilro Park Baptist Church in Roodepoort, Gauteng.

Sarah came to know the Lord while in high school and very soon felt that her call into ministry was to speak for the voiceless and to be a help to the vulnerable, and to love people as Christ loves us. She studied for one year at the Baptist Theological College, before attaining her degree in Social Work through the University of Johannesburg.

Greg and Sarah met at the Baptist Theological College and got married in 2015. Since then, they have welcomed two beautiful daughters: Rayah in 2019 and Olivia in 2021.

In 2019 Greg and Sarah felt the Lord’s call into working at a missions campsite in KZN, and saw God’s provision in being able to go there. They were there for two years, doing Skills Training and Bible Teaching, before deciding to join ZEMA.

They are excited to continue to use the gifts God has given them to bring forth beautiful fruit for the Lord in the garden He places them in.
